Austin has grown up on the streets of Thalia, Birchwood, and Malibu, where he spent his youth with friends and family on the diamond. Now his wife and kids join him as they continue to grow the Wuornos ball field legacy.

In the words of Ron Lang, “I’m just an old retired man who’s lived in the neighborhood and been involved with the community league sports all my life.”

When Ron says he’s been coaching longer than his players have been alive, it’s not a joke — it’s a fact. He has dedicated his time and energy to the various sports programs because he believes the lessons learned here provide a foundation of life skills for our children.

Ron encourages all parents to join in the fun and help guide our children into becoming the leaders of tomorrow.

A proud dad of multiple volleyball-loving kids, he spends most evenings in a gym cheering from the sidelines or helping shag balls between drills. With a deep appreciation for teamwork, sportsmanship, and a good underhand serve when needed, he’s passionate about creating a fun and supportive environment where young athletes can grow in confidence and skill.

When he and his wife are not coordinating carpools or setting up nets together, they are encouraging players to hustle, communicate, and most importantly—have fun. Volleyball isn’t just a sport in his house; it’s a family tradition.
