Fastpitch - 14U (Girls 13-14 years old)

Our program is designed to extend the skills from Fastpitch (Ages 12-13 years old) and build on those skills in fielding, hitting, and pitching.

Requirements:  

Players must provide their own Fielding Masks, Fielding Gloves, and Bat.
Coaches will provide advice on the color of Athletic pants
Cleats are suggested but not required.

We will provide a shared Batting Helmet. (Players may bring their own as well)

 

Recommendation: 
We recommended that the children are familiar with softball. Coaches will continue expanding on established understanding of game and skills previously learned.

Game Skills:

Batting: Children will be learning to hit softball thrown by an opponent with fastpitch mechanics. Players will follow standard batting rules such as 4 ball walks, 3 strike outs, etc.

Baserunning: Children will be taught advanced base running skills such as "going half-way" on pop-ups, avoiding double plays, sliding, etc.

Fielding: Children will learn situational plays and more advance technique skills for fielding.

Player Safety: Children will be taught the importance of wearing Fielding Masks or Batter's helmet, and proper dug-out safety.
